Sustainability

Mercury Tower is currently targeted to achieve LEED certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), with the goal of achieving LEED Gold for Operational and Maintenance (O+M) v4.1, which prioritizes building efficiency, decreases operational costs, increases asset value, and ensures productivity, comfort, health, and wellbeing for occupants

Transportation Performance

Mercury Tower is located in Chit Lom, downtown Bangkok. It is directly connected to a skywalk which can be accessed through The Bangkok Mass Transit System (BTS), Chit Lom Station and Ploen Chit Station. Its location at the heart of Ploen Chit Road also provides pedestrian access to surrounding bus stops. Providing multimodal transportation choices encourages the building’s occupants to substitute use of private cars, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, air pollution and traffic congestion.

Light Pollution Reduction

The building’s exterior lighting along the site boundary has been tested and adjusted to prevent light spillage that could disturb nearby neighborhoods and illuminate the night sky.

LEED GREEN EDUCATION

Water Performance

Existing sanitary water fixtures and fittings have been adjusted for water-saving measures, and some of them have been replaced with the most recent water-saving models to minimize potable water use for indoor water consumption.

Enhanced Refrigerant Management

Mercury Tower prohibits use of CFC based refrigerant in HVAC and Refrigeration systems and uses alternatives with low ozone depletion and global warming potential to mitigate environmental impacts.

LEED GREEN EDUCATION

Waste Performance

Mercury Tower provides separating recycling bins to collect various recyclable wastes including paper, corrugated paper, metals, plastics, glass and electronic durable goods to promote waste separation and reduce waste to landfill.

Indoor Environmental Quality

Indoor environmental quality occupant surveys were conducted, assessed, and responded to, in order to maintain building occupant satisfaction. Additionally, CO2 and TVOC levels in all tenants’ spaces were tested to verify the appropriate air quality.
